Mexico (Notimex) – Juan Rulfo is without a doubt the most important Mexican author of the 20th century, said Italian writer and teacher Francesca Gargallo.
Rulfo was able to give a voice to the dead in the works of Mexican writer Nelly Campobello, who wrote many years before he did, Gargallo added.
Rulfo’s iconic works are Llano en Llamas, Pedro Páramo, El Gallo de Oro and his photographs are well worth revisiting, she said.
Gargallo writes novels, poetry and books for children among other genres. She has developed her writing in Mexico and a large part of Latin America since 1979, and is known for her works on the feminist movement in the Americas.
